reFORMATION : The Art of Destruction
Collective exhibition on the works of SIMON BERGER and PIERRE-ALAIN MÜNGER currently on display at Fränkisches Museum Feuchtwagen, Germany, until August 14, 2022.
Through the process of smashing, breaking and destroying, swiss artists Simon Berger and Pierre-Alain Münger create stunning pieces of art with their materials of choice, namely glass and metal. In this collective exhibition, both artists establish new contexts of meaning from the remains and fragments of what already exists. Berger (*1976) creates expressive glass portraits using a hammer, deliberately shattering areas of light and contrast, highlighting the fragility of his subjects. Münger (*1977) works from studying and analyzing car crashes, focusing on the transformation and deformation of the materials through various mediums.
